Mold resistance (anti-fungal) test isconducted for a variety of industrial products and household products and materials, to see if there is a resistance to molds and its degree of the resistance strength. Normally, to use the blank test piece for the comparison is better to clarify the result. (Blank test piece mans, the test piece to which any biocide is not applied).3 to 5kinds of the fungus/molds from different groups are used at the same time by making it a spore fluid.

Antimicrobial(anti-bacteria) test isconducted for a variety of industrial products and household products and materials, to see if there is a resistance to bacteria and its degree of the resistance strength. In many standards, antimicrobial test requires the blank test piece, which is needed to compute antimicrobial activity value by log function. Escherichia coli bacterium and Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia are commonly used for this test.

To get the clear result/efficacy level, it is always recommended to conduct an antimicrobial or/and antifungal test by preparing the blank test piece. Kindly remind that, a certain test with the specific standard such as JIS Z2911 (antimicrobial test) requires the blank test piece to compute the activity value, and without it, the test result won't be made. .
